Adult Learn to Row
This program is for adults interested in learning the basic techniques and styles of sculling and sweep rowing. The program is a low impact sport available to adults of all athletic levels. The Learn to Row program includes instruction on land as well as on-water sessions to learn basic rowing technique. Participants who successfully complete the Learn to Row II program are encouraged to consider joining the adult masters rowing program. Speak to your coach!
NOTE: Rowers are requested to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled on-water time to warm up and get organized. On-water activities for all rowing programs are dependent on weather and river conditions.

Fees
The cost is $225.
Prerequisites
All participants must know how to swim. A swimmer affirmation must be checked off at registration and the Swim Test Certification Form must be completed. All participants should be able to perform the activities listed in the Swim Test Certification Form. Bring the completed form with you to the first day of practice. Please note: Rowers do not wear life jackets in the boat. The coaching launch is equipped with life jackets for every rower.
You should consult with your physician before starting any strenuous exercise program such as rowing. NOTE: A fully-rigged eight person rowing shell weighs around 200 pounds. With eight people lifting and carrying, each person shoulders 25 to 30 pounds. You should expect to lift 25 - 30 pounds above your head.
